The Conference Hall

Entering from the outside, you will see the Conference Hall first. This is the largest room in the Independence Palace, located on the ground floor of the palace, straight along the walkway from the outside. The Conference Hall has a large capacity, capable of accommodating up to 500 people.

The Conference Hall is used to receive guests and welcome heads of state, so the Conference Hall takes red as its main color because red symbolizes good luck and power, adding to the solemnity of the room.

In the past, the Conference Hall was often used for meetings and conferences as well as the most important events of the Vietnam government. This is also where President Nguyễn Văn Thiệu declared his resignation and handed over power to the then Vice President Trần Văn Hương.

In November 1975, the Reconciliation Conference was held here to unify the two regions of North and South, Vietnam officially became an independent and unified nation.

The painting "Việt Nam Quốc Tổ" by painter Trọng Nội is also hung here, this painting also says that "it is not only now that there have been meetings to welcome heads of state of other countries, but in the past, the Hung Kings also welcomed foreign envoys to Vietnam"
