Artifacts Preserved at the Independence Palace

The Independence Palace today is not only a prominent tourist destination in Ho Chi Minh City but also a repository of valuable historical artifacts from the war against French colonialism and the puppet regime of the American Empire. Notable among these are the

two T-54B tanks numbered "843" and the T-59 numbered "390," placed in front of the entrance to the Palace. Both of these tanks successively rammed down the side and main gates of the last stronghold of the Saigon puppet regime, marking the end of the unjust war that divided the Vietnamese nation for 20 years. These two tanks were aid provided by China and Russia to Vietnam during the war against the Saigon regime.

Next to these tanks is the F-5E aircraft, piloted by Nguyễn Thành Trung, which bombed the Independence Palace, causing the Nguyen Van Thieu regime to panic. This was considered the second time the Independence Palace was bombed.

In addition, the interior of the Palace also displays and preserves many other valuable artifacts.
