It is easy to notice the presence of exquisitely carved mythical creatures throughout the palaces of the Forbidden City. Dragons, phoenixes, and lions hold significant meanings in Chinese culture.

 

On the terrace of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, surrounded by luxurious balustrades, you will find a pair of bronze cranes and a pair of bronze turtles. These were placed there to symbolize wishes for eternal rule and longevity.
