Notable works around Nguyen Hue walking street
It can be said that from a small canal, the place has turned into a modern boulevard, one of the most bustling streets in Saigon in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with many modern works built by the French.
At the end of Nguyen Hue Street is the HCM City People's Committee, formerly the West Commune Palace. This place was previously the official working place for the Nam Ky City Council, and later the working place of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and some other agencies.
In 2015, the statue of President Hồ Chí Minh was built to celebrate the 125th anniversary of President Hồ Chí Minh's birth.
In addition, there are some nearby works near the walking street area such as the Bitexco building, State Treasury, City Opera House or a chain of old hotels in Saigon built by the French before.
